Boulder, CO : Two people injured when car crashes into parked construction truck on U.S. 36 in Broomfield on Tuesday, July 26, 2016

Two people were injured after their car crashed into a parked construction truck on U.S. 36 in Broomfield.

The crash occurred at 1:15 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of U.S. 36 near the Wadsworth exit, according to tweets from North Metro Fire.

According to the fire agency, one person had to be extricated from the car and both occupants were transported to the hospital. The tweets did not say how serious the injuries were.

The construction truck was unoccupied.

The two right eastbound lanes of U.S. 36 were shut down while investigators were on scene but have since been re-opened. The cause of the crash was not immediately known.
