Greenville, SC : Driver aged 85 died in Greenville County crash on April, Sunday 9th 2017

An 85-year-old man died in a crash on Sunday afternoon in Greenville County, the S.C. Highway Patrol reported.

Greenville County Coroner Parks Evans identified the driver as Richard E. Cullen, of 618 Old Hundred Road in Pelzer.

Trooper Joe Hovis said Cullen was traveling west on Fork Shoals Road, just 1.2 miles east of Greenville, when his 2003 Chevrolet SUV ran off the left side of the road, overturned and rolled down an embankment.

Hovis said the crash occurred at 3:20 p.m. Sunday.

Cullen was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected, Hovis said.

He died at the scene.

The manner of death has been ruled an accident.

The cause of death has not been determined.
