Columbus,OH : Police ID man, 23, hit and killed by car in Forest Park on September, Thursday 14th 2017

Motorists stopped to give CPR to a 23-year-old man hit by a car in Forest Park late Wednesday, but he died at a hospital shortly after, police said.

Police said Jack Saylor died on Wednesday of multiple traumatic injuries due to the crash. His death was ruled an accident the Butler County Coroner's office Thursday.

Officers responded to a report of a person struck by a vehicle on Hamilton Avenue near Crest Road during rainy, low visibility conditions just before 9 p.m., police said in a prepared statement.

Saylor was found down on the road and "had been walking in the lane of travel," police said.

Motorists stopped to render first aid and to try to resuscitate him with CPR until medics arrived on scene. He was transported to Mercy Health - Fairfield.
