Man severely injured after Pelham, N.H. motorcycle crash

A Pelham man was flown to a Boston trauma center with severe head injuries after he fell off a motorcycle and struck his head on the pavement while not wearing a helmet, according to police.

Pelham police said they were called to Herrick Circle about 3:20 p.m. Monday, where they found Ronald Sousa, 57, sitting on the side of the road while his motorcycle lay in the street.

Police said Sousa had been driving a 2012 orange KTM on and off-road motorcycle when he lost control, fell off the bike, and struck his head on the pavement.

Police said Sousa was flown by a MedFlight helicopter to Tufts Medical Center. His condition was not immediately available.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Pelham Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team.
