Kearny County, KS : Deerfield teen injured in Kearny County crash on U.S. Highway 50 in rural Kearny County on Tuesday, 5th February 2019

A 19-year-old Deerfield woman was taken to the hospital Tuesday morning with injuries she sustained in a two-vehicle wreck on U.S. Highway 50 in rural Kearny County.

Jennifer Terrazas of Deerfield was northbound on County Road AA in a 2008 Chevy Aveo at about 9:25 a.m., while at the same time, Yatsa Morgan, 31, of Garden City, was eastbound on U.S. 50 in a 2000 Kenworth semi trailer about 12 miles west of the U.S. Highway 50/83 junction. When they reached the intersection of the two roadways, Terrazas’ vehicle slid into the intersection due to the icy conditions and collided with the trailer of Morgan’s vehicle, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.

Terrazas was taken to Kearny County Hospital in Lakin with a suspected serious injury. Morgan was not injured. Both were wearing seat belts.
