Carbondale,IL : 61-year-old Marion man injured in single-semitrailer crash in I-57 on May, Wednesday 2nd 2018

A Marion man was airlifted from the scene of a traffic crash Wednesday on Interstate 57 near mile marker 71 in Franklin County, according to a news release from Illinois State Police.


The release states that Mark Johnson, 61, was driving a 2007 International semitrailer at 5:50 a.m. southbound on I-57 when the truck went off the roadway on the right. The truck struck a hill embankment before striking a light pole and a concrete culvert, causing the cab to partially separate from the frame of the vehicle.
