Dania Beach, FL : 4 year old dead after being hit by truck on April 27th 2014

A South Florida child is dead after being struck by a truck as a neighbor pulled out of a driveway. The four-year-old boy was riding a scooter on a shared driveway when he was killed.

Broward Sheriff's Office Traffic Homicide detectives say Xavier Crawford was attending a children's party Saturday afternoon with neighbors and family. Michael Reshick, 52, was backing out of a parking space when the rear of his truck hit Crawford. He remained on the scene and cooperated with authorities. Witnesses say Reshick backed out slowly and cautiously when the child traveled behind the truck.

Crawford was pronounced dead at Memorial Regional Hospital.
