Ashburn, GA : 2 juveniles die after a single vehicle wreck on Interstate 75 in Turner County on Sunday evening, April 10, 2016

A single vehicle wreck Sunday evening on Interstate 75 in Turner County resulted in the death of two juveniles.

Trooper Jason Bland with Georgia State Patrol Post 30 in Cordele said the accident happened between 5:45 and 6 p.m. at mile marker 77 northbound.

He said a Jeep Liberty SUV, driven by Stephanie Seagraves, 41, of Powder Springs, lost control after it veered to the right off the roadway, causing it to roll multiple times. Three backseat passengers, all juveniles, were ejected. A 12-year-old was airlifted to a Macon hospital, and a 13-year-old and 16-year-old were pronounced dead at the scene due to ejection.

Seagraves and a front seat passenger, Neechelle James, 21, of Indiana, were transported to Tift Regional Medical Center. Bland said they were entrapped and had to be removed from the vehicle. He said based on the evidence at the scene, it is perceived that the juveniles were not buckled in.

When asked what caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle, he said based on witness statements, Seagraves attempted to change lanes and then overcorrected after trying to avoid contact with another car.

Bland said the accident is still under investigation. The GSP Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team has also become involved in the investigation.
