A husband and wife narrowly escaped injury Thursday when their pickup went off Highway 299 west of Redding and rolled down an embankment.

The accident happened near Rock Creek Road east of Whiskeytown Lake shortly before 2:30 p.m.
California Highway Patrol Officer Ryan Nailor said the cause of the crash had not been determined.
But, he said, a witness reported the westbound pickup was trying to pass a vehicle on the right that was stopped to make a left turn.
