ODESSA, MN : Fergus Falls man seriously injured in head-on collision on Saturday, 3rd March 2018

A head-on crash Saturday, March 3, seriously injured the drivers of both vehicles.

Dean James Serna, 52, of Fergus Falls, Minn., suffered life-threatening injuries and is being treated at Sanford hospital in Fargo.

Saturday's crash occurred on Highway 7, east of Odessa in Big Stone County at 10:16 p.m.

Clark Jay Berghuis, 28, was driving west in a Pontiac Bonneville on Highway 7 when Serna, driving an Infiniti I35, traveling east, veered into the westbound lane, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

Berghuis was seriously injured and with Eric John Barck, 46, a passenger in the Burghuis vehicle, suffered minor injuries. They are both being treated at CentraCare St. Cloud.

Road conditions were dry and it's unknown if alcohol or weather were factors in the crash.
