A Gadsden woman was pronounced dead Sunday afternoon at the scene of a crash on U.S. 431 in Mountainboro.
Lisa Marie Lemons, 36, was a passenger on a Yamaha V Star motorcycle traveling on U.S. 431, according to Etowah County Coroner Michael Head. The motorcycle slowed, and it was struck from behind by a Nissan Xterra.
Her husband was flown by Life Flight to Huntsville Hospital with non-life threatening injures.
Lemons' body has been sent to the Alabama Department of Forensic Science for an autopsy.
The crash occurred at 2:50 p.m. Sunday.
