TUSCARORA, NY : Man, 95, dies after crashing into stopped logging truck on Wednesday, November 30th, 2016

Authorities say a 95-year-old man is dead after he crashed his car into the back of a logging truck that was stopped waiting to make a left turn.

The Steuben County Sheriff’s Office says the accident happened just after 6:30 a.m. Wednesday on Route 417 in the town of Tuscarora, about 35 miles south of Rochester. An investigation found the car’s driver, 95-year-old Randall Whiteman of Addison, didn’t hit the brakes or try to avoid the truck.

Whiteman was pronounced dead several hours later at a hospital in Sayre, Pennsylvania.
