Marysville,WA : Bicyclist injured in collision with car at I-5 onramp on October, Tuesday 3rd 2017
A bicyclist suffered apparent spinal injuries in a crash with a car Tuesday morning in Marysville, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The cyclist, 58, of Marysville, said he was riding east on the shoulder of 116th Street NE when he stopped at the onramp to southbound I-5, according to state troopers.
He started to cross the street but was struck by a Honda Accord around 8 a.m., said trooper Heather Axtman. The bicyclist rolled onto the hood. He suffered possible broken bones in his back, according to the State Patrol. He was taken to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett.
The driver, 24, of Tulalip, told troopers he didn’t see the cyclist because the sun was in his eyes.
Troopers are investigating.
