CLARKSVILLE, TN : 4 dead after 3-vehicle crash on Ashland City Road on Wednesday, 5th October 2016
Four people were killed in a head-on collision that involved three vehicles on Ashland City Road in Clarksville shortly after 4 p.m. Wednesday.
Clarksville Police Department spokeswoman Natalie Hall said one of the vehicles, which had one person inside, crossed the center of the road and struck a vehicle carrying three people.
All four died at the scene.
The car with three people struck a third car, but the driver refused treatment.
The crash was reported at 4:08 p.m., and traffic was being diverted at Cumberland Drive and Highway 48/13 on one side and at Edmondson Ferry Road on the other side.
That stretch of road, also called US 41A Bypass, was expected to remain closed for several hours as investigators determined what happened and the burned wreckage was removed.
At least one of the vehicles appeared to have caught fire. It was upside down in the roadway.
