Louisville, KY : 1 dead, 1 injured in crash near Iroquois Park on Tuesday afternoon, July 26, 2016

One man is dead and a woman is in serious condition following a crash involving a motorcycle and pickup truck Tuesday afternoon near Iroquois Park, officials said.

At around 3:30 p.m., Louisville Metro Police's traffic unit responded to New Cut Road and Kenwood Drive in front of Iroquois Park on a report of a collision between a pickup truck pulling a trailer and a motorcycle with two riders, police spokeswoman Alicia Smiley said in a release.

The occupants of the motorcycle, a male and a female, were both thrown from the bike, Smiley said. They were not wearing helmets.

They were transported to University of Louisville Hospital, where the man died from his injuries, she said. The female remains in serious condition.

The Jefferson County Coroner's Office identified the deceased man Wednesday as 29-year-old Jonathan Martin, of Jeffersonville, Indiana. He died around 4:15 p.m. at the hospital from multiple blunt force trauma, according to deputy coroner Scott Russ.

The driver of the truck was uninjured and remained at the scene, Smiley said. The cause of the crash is under investigation.

No other information was immediately available.
