MOUNT VERNON TOWNSHIP, MN : Two injured in rollover accident on Saturday, February 25th 2017

A rollover crash on U.S. 61 on Saturday afternoon sent two people to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The crash happened shortly after 4:30 p.m. on southbound U.S. 61 in Mount Vernon Township in Winona County, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. A pickup truck was traveling southbound in the left lane when it left the roadway and struck the cable guardrail in the median. The vehicle then rolled and stopped in the middle of northbound U.S. 61.

The driver, David Brian Gross, 44, and a passenger, Elija Thomas, 7, both of La Farge, Wis., were taken to Winona Health with non-life threatening injuries.

The Winona County Sheriff's Office, Altura Ambulance and Rollingstone Fire Department helped respond to the crash.
