A Hartsville man was killed in a motorcycle accident Saturday night.
Florence County Coroner Keith von Lutcken has identified the deceased as Bradley Edward Harvey, 32, of Hartsville.
According to South Carolina Highway Patrol Lance Cpl. Matt Southern, the accident occurred in the 4800 block of Willow Creek Road in Florence around 7:20 p.m. Saturday evening. The 2014 Honda motorcycle Harvey was driving left the right side of the road, striking a mailbox and a ditch.
Harvey and the female passenger were thrown from the motorcycle. Both individuals sustained injuries in the crash. Harvey -- who was not wearing a helmet -- was transported to Carolinas Hospital System in Florence, where he succumbed to his injuries shortly after.
The passenger -- who was wearing a helmet -- was transported to McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence. She remains under care at the hospital.
This incident is under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
