Newbury Park woman killed in 405 Freeway motorcycle accident

A woman who died Wednesday morning when her motorcycle rear-ended a pickup truck on the northbound 405 Freeway, was identified by the Coroner’s Office as 31-year-old Denise Fallon Naccarato of Newbury Park.

Naccarato’s bike struck the rear of a white Ford Ranger about 3:45 a.m. just north of Getty Center Drive, according to coroner’s Assistant Chief Ed Winter and California Highway Patrol Officer Jennifer Cassidy.

All northbound lanes of the 405 were closed at 4:17 a.m. and a SigAlert was declared. The resulting traffic jam, which continued well into the morning commute, stretched about two miles from Sunset Boulevard to Getty Center Drive.

The CHP reopened the No. 5 lane at 5:25 a.m., though traffic had been diverted off the 405 Freeway to Sepulveda Boulevard at Getty Center Drive.

Drivers were able to re-enter the freeway at the Skirball Center Drive on-ramp, Cassidy said.The motorcycle and the Ford Ranger that was struck by Naccarato’s bike were towed from the scene, and all lanes were cleared at 8:26 a.m., according to the CHP.
