Lakewood, CO : Seven people injured after Head-on crash on Wadsworth Blvd on Sunday evening, Sep 6, 2015

A driver reportedly going the wrong direction on Wadsworth Boulevard collided with a car full of six people Sunday evening.

The crash happened around 6 p.m. north of West 6th Avenue.

"From what we can tell, the blue vehicle was initially traveling southbound on Wadsworth. For an unknown reason, at this time, it crossed over the median, the center two lanes, across the two lanes of northbound traffic and at some point ended on the sidewalk on the east side of Wadsworth. Then at some point it left the sidewalk, crossed back into the northbound lanes (oncoming lanes of traffic) and collided head-on with the other vehicle," said Sgt T.J. Jacobson with the Lakewood police department.

There was one driver in the blue vehicle and six occupants in the vehicle that was struck.

"It was one of those situations you saw happening. You hold your breath for a second going 'please don't hit nobody' and then you hear the (smack) and you see a car almost rollover," said Zach Mosier who witnessed the crash.

"I have a 6 year-old at home and I heard a little boy screaming and the first thing I thought of is 'what would I do if it was my son?' So, I started running towards the accident with about 4 other people," Mosier told 7NEWS.

Everyone in the crash was transported to the hospital. They were all expected to survive, according to Jacobson.
