Essex,VT : Driver was under influence in fatal crash on December, Wednesday 20th 2017

Police in Vermont say an investigation into a one-vehicle accident that killed two people shows the driver was speeding and under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

The crash happened on Sept. 26 in Essex on Fort Parkway at Ethan Allen Avenue.

Police identified the victims as 21-year-old Nicholas Lizewski and 18-year-old Kaylin Mitchell, both from Essex.

On Wednesday, police said an investigation showed that Lizewski was under the influence with a blood-alcohol level at a little more than twice the legal limit. He also was operating between 77 miles an hour and 93 miles an hour. The posted limit is 45 miles an hour.
