A man on a pedal cycle was struck and killed by a police car in Port St. Lucie Monday night.
Florida Highway Patrol said Norman Stauber, 50, of Port St. Lucie, drove off a raised sidewalk and fell onto the outside lane of Southwest Bayshore Boulevard.
Port St. Lucie Police Officer Steven Camara, 51, was driving by and the right side tires ran over Stauber. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
