VALE, OR : A 58 year-old male was killed in an accident on Thursday, October, 26th 2017

A 58 year-old male was killed in an accident involving a tractor north of Vale Thursday afternoon.

The victim was apparently working on the tractor, trying to jump start it while it was in gear, when it lurched forward and and he ended up pinned underneath a tire, Malheur County Undersheriff Travis Johnson said.

The Sheriff's office was notified at 2:41 p.m, Johnson said.

The name of the person was not released pending notification of family members.
