A single vehicle auto crash claimed a man from Loris, South Carolina, Friday afternoon, Columbus County Coroner Linwood Cartrette said.
Tony Ray Phipps, 470, of Hull Island Road in Loris, died when his Chevrolet Impala left left N.C. 904 near Howard Cox Road on the right, he overcorrected, and the car ran off the highway on the left, striking a tree and overturning, Cartrette said.
No other vehicle was involved.
