FLOYD, VA : Deputies investigate Floyd crash on Camroden Road on Tuesday, 13th November 2018
Driving too fast for conditions led to a car striking a tree Tuesday morning, police said.
Around 8:13 a.m. Tuesday, Oneida County sheriff’s deputies responded to a reported one-car motor vehicle accident on Camroden Road in Floyd.
After investigation, deputies say 50-year-old Rome resident Earl Gwin was driving an orange 2011 Dodge Caravan south on Camroden Road when the vehicle crossed the center line and left the east shoulder of the road. The vehicle traveled through a ditch and struck a tree causing heavy front end damage to the vehicle, according to a release.
Deputies said Gwin was driving at a speed not prudent for road conditions and failed to stay right.
Gwin reported neck pain but was evaluated and released at the scene, officials said.
