BATAVIA, NY : A Batavia man is facing DWI charges after an investigation into a crash on Sunday, July 30, 2017
A Batavia man is facing DWI charges after an investigation into a crash at West Main Street and Wortendyke roads early Sunday afternoon, state police said.
Police were called to the intersection about 2 p.m. after a report of a two-car crash blocking the road. It appears the drivers swerved, with one car crossing the lane and smashing into a mailbox before crossing back and skidding across the grass in front of
Batavia Mobile Home Park.
No injuries were reported.
Phillip H. Sawyer, 46, was charged with DWI and aggravated DWI for having a blood alcohol content of more than .18 percent. He was issued an appearance ticket for a later date in Town Court.
No charges were filed against the driver of the other car.
