Phoenix, AZ : Pedestrian struck and killed in west Phoenix crash on Monday, March 2, 2015

A pedestrian has been struck and killed in west Phoenix near 47th Avenue and Thomas.

Investigators say the driver lost control of the car and rolled over striking the pedestrian.

It then hit a power pole and knocked out power to nearby residents.

Police say the driver and passenger ran from the scene but were detained nearby.

Now investigators have to determine if impairment played a factor in the crash.

The pedestrian killed has not been identified.

Power crews are working to restore power to the area, but it is unclear how long it will take to finish the repairs.
