RIPLEY, MS : High-speed police chase ends in crash fatal to passenger on Monday, 7th November 2016

A woman has died after a crash ended a high-speed police chase in northeast Mississippi.
Officials tell local media that 30-year-old Samantha Cruz of Corinth died Monday after a car being driven by a wanted man ran over spike strips, left a Tippah County road and hit some trees.
The man, 24-year-old Taylor Talley of Corinth, bailed out of the crashed car and was arrested after a foot chase. Officials jailed him in Ripley and expect to file charges.
Alcorn County Sheriff Ben Caldwell said the chase began Monday after deputies and prison officials tried to arrest him for burglary and probation violations.
Talley and Cruz fled from deputies in a black Nissan Maxima. Deputies chased and lost them, but Tippah County deputies later spotted the car, resuming the chase.
