Lynchburg, VA : Four-vehicle wreck in Lynchburg injures one on Sunday, December 4th, 2016

A crash involving four vehicles injured a woman and shut down the southbound lanes of the Lynchburg Expressway for about two hours Sunday afternoon, according to Lynchburg police.

Officer C.M. White of the Lynchburg Police Department said the four-vehicle pileup took place just after 1 p.m. Approximately 100 motorcycles were coming onto the highway from Odd Fellows Road after attending a local event, which caused vehicles to slow down and crash into each other, he said.Two cars were totaled, White said. A woman was transported to Lynchburg General Hospital with a possible broken ankle, White said.

Both southbound lanes were shut down until just before 3 p.m. Sunday, White said.
