Stratford, CT : Cyclist killed in crash near Freeman Avenue on Saturday, July 16, 2016

A motorcyclist died Saturday after crashing on Main Street near Freeman Avenue, police said Monday.

Dominick Ferranti, 49, of Stratford was found lying in the roadway, unresponsive, when police arrived, Lt. Frank Eannotti said. The victim had been traveling north on Main Street, and it appears that the motorcycle was the only vehicle involved in the crash, Eannotti said.

Ferranti was transported to Bridgeport Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, officials said.
The crash remains under investigation.
