Dubois County, IN : 18-year-old man killed in a single-vehicle crash in Dubois County on Sunday evening, November 23, 2014
Dubois County authorities have identified the 18-year-old man killed in a single-vehicle wreck there Sunday evening as Theodore Boeglin of Jasper, Indiana.
The wreck also injured another teen.
According to the sheriff's office, authorities were called to a single-car crash on County Road 125 East northeast of Jasper just before 6 p.m. EST. The car, a 2003 Dodge Neon, had run off the road, struck a utility pole and flipped onto the driver's side.
Boeglin was pronounced dead at the scene. Deputies said he was the driver of the car, according to a news release.
A front-seat passenger in the vehicle, Justin Wright, 19, suffered a leg and arm injury in the crash. A third person in the vehicle was not injured.
According to the news release, authorities blamed the crash on unsafe speed due to the road's wet conditions. Investigators noted that a piece of drug paraphernalia was found inside the wreck vehicle, but said it would take two to three weeks to determine if Boeglin was under the influence of any drugs at the time of the crash.
