Louisville, KY : Injury accident between vehicle and cyclist closes Kentucky Street from 16th to 19th on Friday, 16th August 2019
A cyclist was initially thought to be severely injured after she was hit by a car Friday afternoon, according to Lawrence police. However, by Friday evening she was in stable condition and expected to be released from the hospital tonight.
Officer Drew Fennelly, of the Lawrence Police Department, told the Journal-World via email that the 30-year-old cyclist was eastbound on 17th Street, crossing Kentucky Street, around 4:50 p.m. Friday.
A northbound sedan, driven by a 40-year-old woman, collided with the cyclist, Fennelly said the initial investigation revealed. He said the exact circumstances surrounding the crash were still under investigation Friday night.
The cyclist was taken to a Topeka-area trauma center by ambulance with what were believed to be critical injuries, Fennelly said. Later Friday, however, she was in stable condition and expected to be released.
