Oil City, PA : DUI accident in Cornplanter Township on Friday, March 10th 2017

A 22-year-old Oil City man faces charges of driving under the influence after he lost control of his vehicle Friday evening.

According to police, Tyler J. Smathers was traveling north on Route 227 near the intersection of Old Warren Pike when he attempted to pass a slow moving vehicle. He lost control of the car and struck a guide rail. The vehicle became airborne and flew approximately 40 feet before coming to a final rest on its side in an apple orchard.
