Emporia, KS : A woman suffered non-life threatening injuries in an accident on May, Friday, 19th 2017
A woman suffered non-life threatening injuries in an accident in central Emporia Friday evening.
At approximately 5:40 p.m. Friday, scanner traffic indicated an injury accident at the intersection of Eighth Avenue and Cottonwood Street. Though two patients were initially reported to be injured, an officer at the scene told The Gazette the number was actually one. She did not require emergency transport.
When responders arrived, they found two vehicles — both Toyota Corollas — on all four wheels with moderate damage.
"Toyota Corolla was traveling southbound and the other vehicle was westbound," Emporia Police Officer Eduardo Perez said. "This is an uncontrolled intersection. Officers are still looking into the cause of the accident. I don't believe anyone was transported at this time. The only injury sustained was to one of the drivers — her eye."
More information regarding the accident will not be released until Saturday at the earliest.
