A man was killed in a car crash Sunday evening in the Little Village neighborhood on the Southwest Side, according to Chicago Police.
About 6:55 p.m., a blue pickup truck was in the 2700 block of South Komensky heading north through an alley toward 28th Street, according to police.
The pickup truck struck a Chevrolet TrailBlazer, lost control and struck a fence, police said. A 26-year-old man and another male, whose age was unknown, were in the bed of the truck and ejected from the vehicle.
The 26-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The Cook County medical examiner’s office did not immediately confirm the fatality. The condition of the other male was unknown.
The driver and an additional passenger of the pickup truck ran away from the scene, police said.
The police Major Accidents Investigation unit is investigating.
