Eagle Point , OR : 34-year-old southern Oregon woman and her daughter killed and hree children injured in collision with log truck on late Thursday night ,April 2nd 2015
Authorities say a 34-year-old southern Oregon woman and her 6-year-old daughter were killed when their minivan collided head-on with a logging truck in the Eagle Point area. Three other children in the minivan were reported seriously injured.
The Jackson County sheriff's office identified those killed in Thursday's crash as Amy Sue Foster and her daughter, Rebecca Showalter, both of Butte Falls. The other three children were taken to nearby hospitals. Their condition was not known late Thursday night.
Sheriff's Capt. Nathan Sickler says crash investigators determined the minivan crossed the center line on Butte Falls Highway and collided with the oncoming truck. The truck driver was not seriously hurt.
Sickler says the same minivan had been reported driving recklessly just minutes before the crash.
