State police say two 19-year-old Queens men were killed in a fiery crash on the Southern State Parkway on Long Island.
The crash happened at about 12:35 a.m. Tuesday when a vehicle driven by Joseph Kelly of Laurelton struck the Franklin Avenue overpass east of Exit 15.
Newsday reports that state police said Kelly failed to negotiate a turn in the road and lost control of the vehicle.
The vehicle became engulfed in flames. Kelly and his passenger, Justin Johnson of Laurelton, were both trapped inside.
The accident remains under investigation, although a police spokesman says no criminality is suspected.
The eastbound highway reopened shortly before 7 a.m.
