Tremont, KY : Andrea Joseph, 25, killed in a fatal collision in the Tremont community of Harlan County on Thursday, March 9, 2017
A one-vehicle crash on U.S. 119 on Thursday resulted in the death of a Harlan woman.
Andrea Joseph, 25, of Wallins, was pronounced dead at the scene by Harlan County Deputy Coroner Jim Rich.
According to a press release, Kentucky State Police responded to a fatal collision in the Tremont community of Harlan County at approximately 5:30 p.m. Preliminary investigation indicates Joseph was operating a 1998 Mercury Mountaineer traveling south on U.S. 119. The passenger side tires dropped off the roadway onto the southbound shoulder. Joseph over corrected in an attempt to regain control, and struck the northbound end of the guard rail.
Kentucky State Police Trooper Kenny Abner is in charge of the investigation. He was assisted at the scene by Sgt. Danny Caudill, Troopers Jared Boggs and Josh Messer, Johnson LifeCare Ambulance Service, the Harlan County Rescue Squad and the Wallins Volunteer Fire Department.
