BIRMINGHAM, AL : 2 people killed in wreck on I-59/20 near Rock Mtn. Lakes exit on Friday, 27th September 2019

Two people were killed in an accident Friday morning on I-59/20.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office said there are no further details available at this time.
Drivers traveling southbound on I-59/20 at mile marker 102 are experiencing significant delays after an accident. All lanes reopened around 9:15 a.m., but heavy delays are expected to continue for a while.
Drivers should detour around the closure by taking exit 104 then taking McAshan to 4th Ave. SW to Hwy. 216. Use Hwy. 216 to re-enter I-59/20 at exit 100.
