One man is dead and three were taken to the hospital after a fiery head-on-collision on US Highway 287 in Anderson County on Friday night.
At 8:30 p.m., Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers responded to the wreck, where they discovered a gray Toyota Tundra traveling north on US Highway 287 near Farm-to-Market Road 860 had crossed over the double
yellow center line and struck a gray Jeep Grand Cherokee head on that was traveling southbound.
The Toyota pickup rolled over on the driver’s side and caught fire trapping the driver inside. The Jeep also caught fire, but the three occupants were able to escape.
The driver of the Jeep was taken to Mother Francis Hospital in Tyler. A 3-year-old passenger was taken to Children’s Hospital in Dallas. A 2-year-old child was taken to Palestine Regional Medical Center.
The driver of the Toyota was identified as Tu Nguyen, 45, of Fort Worth.
Nguyen was pronounced dead at the scene by Judge James Todd.
His body was taken to Bailey & Foster Funeral home in Palestine.
