ZILLAH, WA : Sunnyside man injured in tractor accident near Zillah on Thursday, October, 5th 2017

A 30-year-old Sunnyside man is expected to recover after suffering a serious injury to his right arm in a tractor accident near Zillah.

The man was driving the tractor backwards while pulling a bin trailer around 5:30 p.m. Thursday when the tractor left the road and rolled over, according to a release from the Yakima County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies and medical personnel freed the man after his right arm was pinned beneath the tractor’s rear fender, the release said.

The man was taken to a local hospital, but deputies said his injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.

The accident occurred in the 1600 block of North Granger Road.
