Mays Landing, NJ : 44-year-old motorcyclist dies after colliding with car in Atlantic County on Saturday, Sep 19, 2015

Police say a New Jersey motorcyclist has died from injuries sustained in a collision with a car in Atlantic County over the weekend.

Forty-four-year-old Scott Smith was riding his Suzuki motorcycle westbound on West Jersey Avenue in Hamilton Township when he collided with a Nissan driven by an 86-year-old man around 6 p.m. Saturday.

Police say the Nissan made a left turn in front of the Egg Harbor Township resident's motorcycle before impact.

Smith was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Campus, where he was later pronounced dead. The driver of the Nissan was treated for minor injuries.

Police say an investigation is ongoing and no charges have been filed at this time.
