Hunterville, N.C : Pickup truck crashes into Huntersville house on Monday morning, Aug 10, 2015

Police are investigating after a pickup truck crashed intoa house in Huntersville Monday morning.

The crash happened on Stonemont Drive around 8 a.m.

The homeowner, Gwendolyn Stover, said she was just getting out of bed upstairs when she heard a loud crash.

"[It] sounded like an explosion," Stover said. "I didn't know what it was. It shook the house."

Firefighters said there was only one person in the car, and the driver told Stover he passed out before the crash.

Huntersville police said the driver did not get a ticket, and alcohol or drugs were not involved.

An ambulance took at driver to CMC in Dilworth to get checked out for non-life-threatening injuries.

Meanwhile, Stover is not able to go inside her own home. Code enforcement checked out the damage and said the house was too unsafe.

Even removing the truck is going to be complicated, because police said a part of the house will likely crumble if they just town the truck out.

“They're going to have to get somebody to come out here and put it on a crane,” Stover said.

Stover said she’s just grateful she was in her bedroom when the crash happened. The truck hit a portion of her house that serves as her home office.
