Indianapolis, IN : Driver dies in crash into Wabash River on Tuesday, December, 12th 2017
A woman died after she lost control of her vehicle Tuesday and drove into the Wabash River in Wells County.
Rescue crews pulled the vehicle out of the water about 4:40 p.m. Sherry L. Green was airlifted to Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie and died at 7:15 p.m., the Wells County Sheriff's Department said.
Green's vehicle crossed the center line on Indiana 116 about 3:20 p.m., leaving the road to the north and continuing down an embankment into the river where it was completely submerged, police said.
The crash occurred just southeast of County Road 600 East.
