Nacogdoches, TX : Nacogdoches police car involved in accident on Monday, December 1, 2014

A Nacogdoches County deputy was taken to a local hospital as a precaution following a crash in his patrol car Monday morning. According to the Sheriff's Office, a deputy was involved in a wreck around 11:00 a.m. The deputy had been dispatched to Highway 59 North near the DPS office on reports of a loose livestock call. They were headed north in the left lane of traffic when the patrol car was hit from behind by a pickup. Both vehicles in the accident suffered major damage, but no injuries were reported. The deputy was taken to a local hospital as a precautionary measure. DPS responded to the scene and is conducting an investigation into the accident.
