An 18-year-old Memphis, Mo., resident was killed in a head-on collision Tuesday morning.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol said a 2002 Pontiac Grand Am driven by Chester E. Robinson, was heading north on Mo. 15 seven miles north of Memphis at 6:20 a.m., when it failed to negotiate a curve, crossed the center line and struck a 2000 Dodge Dakota driven by Tyler A. Scott, 21, of Bloomfield, Iowa.
Robinson was pronounced dead at the scene by Scotland County Sheriff Wayne Winn. Police said Robinson was not wearing a seat belt.
Scott was airlifted by Air Evac to University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City in serious condition.
Assisting were the Scotland County Sheriff's Department, Memphis Police Department, Scotland County Rescue and Scotland County Fire Department.
