Man Killed In Motorcycle Crash Identified in Lakeside California

Authorities Friday released the name of a 26-year-old man who was killed when lost control of his speeding motorcycle and crashed in the Lakeside area, also injuring a woman who was on the back of the vehicle.

Stephen Lawrence of Lakeside crashed his blue Suzuki GSXR750 motorcycle in the 9000 block of Los Coches Road, near Ha-Hana Road, at about 11:10 p.m. Thursday, according to the California Highway Patrol and the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office.

The motorcycle left the roadway and both Lawrence and his passenger were thrown into a shallow culvert, the Medical Examiner's Office reported, noting that Lawrence died at the scene.

The woman sustained moderate to major injuries, according to the CHP. Her name was not released.
