Palm Harbor , FL : Three tenagers minorly injured after driver lost control and and struck a utility pole on Wednesday afternoon , February 18th 2015

Three Palm Harbor teenagers found themselves in an unusual spot after an argument Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the 17-year-old driver was "involved in a verbal altercation" with his 16- and 13-year-old female passengers. The teen -- apparently distracted -- lost control while making a turn on East Lake Road near Woodlands Boulevard.

The silver Jaguar sedan left the road, hit a mailbox, and struck a utility pole -- coming to rest on top of one of the pole's guy wires with the front of the vehicle several feet off the ground.

The teens were all wearing seat belts and did not suffer any significant injuries. Duke Energy and Bright House Networks had to send crews to the scene to restore power and cable service to the neighborhood, however.

The young driver was cited for careless driving, FHP said.
