Darwin, MN : One person killed and five people serious injuries after a crash on Highway 12 near Darwin on Friday night, April 15, 2016
The Minnesota State Patrol has released the name of the indiviual killed in a two vehicle car crash in Darwin Friday night. Christina L. Crottier, 36, of Litchfield, was killed when the vehicle she in was broadsided by another.
The crash took place at the intersection of Meeker County Road 14 and Highway 12 at 11:38 p.m. Friday in Darwin.
Seriously injured in the crash were Crottier's husband Billy J. Crottier, 35, of Litchfield, 3-year-old Alexis Crottier and 7-year-old Zachary Crottier. In addition, the driver and passanger of the other vehicle, Noelle A. Pridgen, 28, of Brandon Florida and Tamya D. Hill, 20, of Kittery, Maine also suffered serious injuries.
All those injured were transported to HCMC in Minneapolis except for Alexis Crottier, who was taken to Meeker County Hospital.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol incident report, a 2014 Dodge Charger driven Pridgen was headed southbound on County Road 14 when it drove through a stop sign and broadsided a 2007 Dodge Magnum being driven by Billy Crottier. Billy Crottier was headed westbound on Highway 12.
The State Patrol report doesn’t say whether any of the injured were wearing a seatbelt, but the airbags deployed in both the Charger and Magnum. No alcohol was detected in Billy Crottier’s system and it is unknown whether alcohol was in Pridgen’s system, according to the state patrol. Road conditions were dry at the time of the accident.
