Lakeland,FL : Single-vehicle crash leaves 1 dead, 2 hurt on March, Sunday 18th 2018

Lake Wales Police responded to a single vehicle traffic crash on State Road 60 on Sunday at about 12:49 p.m.

Authorities said it appears the driver lost control as he traveled West on State Road 60.

The vehicle appeared to have rolled at least once before coming to rest upside down.

The driver, identified as Donis Enrique Perez Villacinda, 51, of Lake Wales, was transported to Lake Wales Medical Center and later released. He was taken into custody for driving without a license and causing a crash which resulted in death. He was transported to the Polk County Jail.

The front seat passenger, identified as Jose Perez Ordonez, 45, of Lake Wales, was wearing a seat belt but was partially ejected. He was deceased when emergency personnel arrived.

Passenger Miguel Ruiz, 43, of Lake Wales, was ejected. He was transported via helicopter to Lakeland Regional Medical Center and remains there Sunday night.

The west bound lanes of State Road 60 were closed after the crash. Traffic was directed down Evergreen Drive.

This case is still under investigation as alcohol may have been a factor.
