PHOENIX, AZ : 2 critically hurt from DUI-suspected crash in south Phoenix on Friday, 9th February 2024

A man and woman are fighting for their life at a Valley hospital after police say they were involved in a crash with a drunk driver.

The crash happened just after 12:30 a.m. Friday morning near 40th Street and University Drive, just south of Phoenix Sky Harbor airport. Video from the scene appeared to show a serious crash between a crossover SUV and a pick-up truck. At this time, details are limited but Phoenix Police confirmed that the other driver, described only as a man, showed signs of impairment and was arrested for suspected DUI.
